The annual leadership contest, sponsored by the Waskom FFA and Harrison Co. Farm Bureau is scheduled for November 10, 2007 at Waskom High School. The contest will be run under the same rules as the district and area contests.
Students should be in official dress for all events. Chapters will be limited to one entry in each contest except for creed and quiz. We will accept entries on a first come, first served basis. The conducting contests will be limited to ten teams in each division. All other contests will be filled to the amount of time that we have available. Please postmark entries by October 1, 2007. We invite 20 schools to our contest and open entries to any other school in the area after the 1st.
Banners will be awarded to the top three teams in each event. An engraved gavel will also be presented to the 1st place Jr. & Sr. Conducting teams. Monogrammed bags will be awarded to the top 3 places in the Jr. Creed and the high individual in Jr. Quiz. The top 3 Sr. Creed speakers will receive a monogrammed garment bag as well as the high Sr. Quiz individual. Awards will also be presented to the advisors of each winning team. There will be an appropriate backdrop for pictures and we will take photos of all award winners present.
A sweepstakes banner will be awarded to the chapter scoring the most points in the Jr. and Sr. divisions as well as an advisors award. These will be sponsored by Fresh Country Fundraising and Seitz-Golden Valley. A chapter will only be able to count points on one individual or team per contest.
The Fall Fling Show Pig Sale will also be held in the Ag Building on the same date. Breeders from four states will be on hand with pigs for the spring majors as well as March-April county shows. The pigs will be shown at 11:00 AM with the sale starting at 12:30. Concessions will be available. We hope to see you on the 10th.
