Honoring our Veterans

On Friday, November 9, Waskom Middle School was proud to honor our local Veterans with an assembly. Our band and choir performed the Star Spangled Banner and the choir also sang America, the Beautiful. Mrs. Ratcliff presented Ms. Champion with an American Flag that was flown over Camp Victory in Iraq especially for Waskom Middle School. There was a special reading by Kayla Carpenter and we honored each branch of the military when our band played March of the Armed Services. Our guest speakers were veterans Tom Hill and John-Michael Gurule, and Nicole Roberts played Taps in memory of all the fallen soldiers. After the program, our Veterans were honored again with a reception and refreshments.
