Superintendent
Christopher Guastella serves as the Superintendent of Waskom ISD, bringing over 17 years of experience in education, including more than a decade in leadership roles. He is passionate about fostering a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment where students, staff, and the community can thrive together.
Throughout his career, Mr. Guastella has led schools to significant academic growth, including increasing accountability ratings and college, career, and military readiness scores. He has developed programs that provide students with expanded learning opportunities, such as tuition-free access to dual credit courses, and has consistently prioritized collaboration, safety, and student success.
A lifelong educator, Christopher earned his Master’s in Educational Leadership from Lamar University and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Florida State University. He holds Texas certifications as Superintendent, Principal, and Generalist (4–8), as well as in Physical Education (EC–12).
Christopher is also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, bringing the same dedication, discipline, and leadership skills to his work in education as he did in service to our country.
He is married to his wife and best friend, Jen Guastella, who serves Waskom ISD as Director of State and Federal Programs. Together, they are proud parents of two children, Rocco (9th grade) and Riley (8th grade), who are both active in academics and athletics. His family inspires his leadership approach, guiding him to emphasize teamwork, compassion, and community in every decision he makes.
As Superintendent, Christopher is committed to building strong partnerships between the schools, families, and the Waskom community, ensuring that every student has the tools, support, and opportunities they need to succeed.
