 Qualifications:
Education/Certification:

• Master’s degree in educational assessment
• Valid Texas teaching certificate
• Valid Texas educational diagnostician certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, education of special education students, human development, and learning theories
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:

• Three years of teaching experience

  Orientation and Mobility Specialist / Teacher of  Visually Impaired

 Education/Certification:

•  Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Science or equivalent with emphasis in Orientation and Mobility
• Master’s degree in Special Education or Counseling preferred
•  Valid orientation and mobility specialist certification from the Academy for Certification of Vision
•  Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP)
• Valid Vision Credentials from State Licensing Agency
• Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certificate
•  

 Special Knowledge/Skills:

•  Knowledge of medical information and indications for orientation and mobility services
•  Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
•  Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
